Story of Vaculik Hockey
Vaculik Hockey was founded with one simple goal: to give players the honest guidance and opportunities they deserve. After years of working in junior hockey operations and recruitment, our team saw firsthand how players and families often struggled to navigate a system that sometimes prioritized profit over development. We knew there had to be a better way.
Our journey began with two different paths that came together through a shared passion for the game. Ondrej Vaculik grew up in the Czech Republic, where he won a U18 national championship and went on to play junior and professional hockey in Europe and North America. His experience across international hockey systems gave him a unique perspective on how players can transition between leagues and countries.
Alex Magi brought a background in sport management and more than seven years of experience in junior hockey programs across Canada. His focus on player recruitment and operations gave him an inside look at how organizations function—and where players often needed stronger advocacy.
Together, we created Vaculik Hockey to bridge that gap. By combining North American and European experience, we help players find the right fit—whether it’s junior, college, or professional hockey. Our philosophy is simple: every player deserves a trusted advisor who puts their development, future, and well-being first.
Today, Vaculik Hockey continues to grow with players and families who share that vision. Our role is not just about placements—it’s about mentorship, building careers, and creating lifelong opportunities in the game.
